Wiley Journals: Free Open Access Publishing Agreement

Wiley Journals: Free Open Access Publishing Agreement
Published Date: Tuesday, 11 July 2023

TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and Wiley have signed a 3-year transformative agreement with the aim of promoting and supporting open access publishing in academic institutions in Turkey and Northern Cyprus.

Under the scope of the EKUAL Project, managed by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, access to electronic journals published by Wiley continues. However, the agreement also includes the "Read & Publish" model, which will be in effect from 2023 to 2025. With this agreement signed with Wiley, all universities in Turkey and Northern Cyprus will have access to approximately 1,400 e-journals published by Wiley. Thanks to the agreement, Research Articles, Review Articles, Data Articles, and Rapid Publications accepted in Q1 and Q2 journals of Wiley Hybrid and Gold journals (excluding Hindawi) from articles with addresses in Turkey and Northern Cyprus can be published as "Open Access" without any Article Processing Charges (APCs) paid. As a result, the visibility and impact of scientific publications produced in Northern Cyprus will increase.

For our researchers working at Eastern Mediterranean University, it is important to register our university's institutional email addresses in the application forms when submitting their articles to Wiley if they wish to publish their articles as Open Access. This is important for the smooth processing of Open Access approval procedures.
